Move = the change in the Treasury’s published 10-year par yield from the previous published business day, rounded to the nearest basis point (1 bp = 0.01 percentage point).9 Ranked by size, rises and falls together; ties share a rank and are listed oldest first. Bitcoin, same period = the change in bitcoin’s daily close (UTC) between those two dates; after a weekend or holiday the period includes the days in between, and the Treasury’s yield is set in the afternoon (US Eastern) while bitcoin’s close is at 00:00 UTC, so the two windows are close but not identical.10 Same/Opposite compares the signs of the two moves. “Dated release” lists only releases and announcements confirmed on the issuing agency’s page and shows no cause: other news came out on every one of these days. Data starts January 2, 2014; bitcoin data starts September 17, 2014.
