Bills = House (H.R.) and Senate (S.) bills of the 119th Congress whose title or Congressional Research Service summary concerns bitcoin, digital assets, crypto-assets, stablecoins, blockchain or central bank digital currencies, chosen for progress and prominence from 82 keyword matches; bills that mention these only in passing, such as appropriations and defense bills, are left out.19 Stage = how far the bill has got, from the official actions record; the table is sorted by stage, then by latest action. Policy area is the Library of Congress’s classification. Sponsor shows the lead sponsor’s party and state or district. Latest action is quoted from the record. Many of the newer bills have no CRS summary yet, so they are described by their official titles. A companion bill in the other chamber is listed separately. The table is a snapshot and a bill’s stage can change any day Congress is in session; the House GUARD Act (H.R. 2978), a crypto-fraud bill that passed the House on September 15, 2026, is not included because it is not about digital assets themselves.
