Shares = IBIT shares (not options) reported under CUSIP 46438F101 by a filer for the quarter; where a filer also made an amendment the original report is used. Change = June 30 shares minus March 31 shares; a filer absent from one quarter’s data set counts as zero there. Change in BTC = June 30 shares × the trust’s bitcoin per share at June 30 (0.000564) minus March 31 shares × its bitcoin per share at March 31 (0.000568).12 A 13F report covers positions a filer has investment discretion over, including client accounts and hedging positions, so a change is not necessarily a view on bitcoin, and only managers with $100 million or more in 13(f) securities file.3 Observed facts, not a forecast.
The top 5 increases and cuts
IBIT’s shares outstanding fell from 1,379,920,000 to 1,302,440,000 over the quarter, and its bitcoin from 783,744 to 734,261.2 The 13F filers in this table are a subset of the fund’s holders. For the largest holders themselves, see the largest reported IBIT holders; for daily flows, the largest IBIT flow days.
