Blocks found = blocks attributed to the pool by mempool.space, which matches each block’s coinbase tag and payout address against an open-source list of known pools; 291 blocks (0.6%) couldn’t be attributed and aren’t ranked. Other block explorers use their own lists and can attribute blocks differently. Share = blocks found ÷ all 52,362 blocks in the window. New BTC from subsidy = blocks × the 3.125 BTC block subsidy, before transaction fees; a pool shares this with the miners who contribute hashrate to it. Empty blocks contain no transactions besides the coinbase.

The top 8

A mining pool combines the computing power of many miners, finds blocks together and splits the rewards, so payouts arrive steadily instead of in rare jackpots. Pools are identified from the data each winning miner writes into its block.10 Concentration is high: the two largest pools found 46.3% of the past year’s blocks and the top five 77.4%.1 For how much bitcoin listed miners keep, see the largest public miners by bitcoin held, and for how difficulty responds when miners switch off, bitcoin’s biggest difficulty drops.
