Congressional Committees With the Most Crypto Hearings on Record
Which parts of Congress have held hearings on crypto? This counts hearings since 2017 whose official title mentions bitcoin, crypto, digital assets, blockchain, stablecoins or similar, by committee, using the hearings the Government Publishing Office has printed and published. It is a floor, not a full count of every hearing held.

Congressional Committees With the Most Crypto Hearings on Record, data as of 2026-10-22
Hearings = packages in GovInfo’s Congressional Hearings collection for the 115th to 119th Congress whose title contains bitcoin, cryptocurrency, crypto (not “cryptography”), digital asset(s), virtual currency, blockchain, stablecoin or CBDC; subcommittee hearings are counted under their full committee, and one joint hearing counts for both of its committees.1 GovInfo carries only hearings that were printed, and printing lags, so the counts are a floor: many hearings, especially Senate ones, have no printed record there, and the latest hearing in the collection overall is later than the latest crypto one shown. Titles that mention crypto only in the text, not the title, are not counted. Ranks are by count, and ties share a rank.

Crypto legislation and oversight in Congress runs mainly through the House Financial Services Committee, which handles banking and securities, and through the agriculture committees, which oversee the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the regulator of commodity markets. For the bills themselves, see federal bitcoin and digital-asset bills.
